Cyber Scholarships for Reservists and National Guard available at UAH

The following information was forwarded to NAC-ISSA by Dr. Tommy Morris, the Director of The Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education at UAH.

Time is limited for this opportunity so please respond quickly.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is currently collecting information from interested candidates for a new cybersecurity scholarship program for Department of Defense Reserve and National Guard Soldiers. These full scholarships will be available for full time and part time students for academic starts in August of 2018.

To be eligible for the scholarship you must be in good standing in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve. Eligible degree programs at UAH include:

Bachelors
BS Computer Engineering
BS Electrical Engineering
BS Computer Science
BS Mathematics
BS Business Administration - Management
BS Business Administration - Information Systems
Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Concentration

Masters
MS in Cybersecurity
MS in Computer Engineering
MS in Computer Science
MS in Information Systems
MS in Electrical Engineering
MS in Software Engineering with Cybersecurity Concentration,

Doctorate
PhD in Electrical Engineering
PhD in Computer Engineering

The scholarship will pay for one-year scholarships, with an option to continue contingent upon continued good standing in the program and receipt of additional program funds:
1. Tuition
2. Mandatory or general fees as determined by the institution. Optional or miscellaneous fees will not be covered.
3. Book allowance
4. Travel funding for one cybersecurity conference per academic year
5. Cost of laptop or tablet for coursework and/or electronic books
