North Alabama ISSA
The North Alabama ISSA chapter is pleased to be able to donate 23 computers for use at Hazel Green High School. These computers will be used to help grow the Cyber Security program at the high school as well as be used for Cyber Patriot competitions. Mr. Case stated "With a generous contribution from the North Alabama chapter of ISSA we can move 20+ students off of a Linux VM and onto real hardware, freeing up resources without sacrificing the time and experience working with an OS that is important to security but foreign to most high school students."

This equipment is helping grow the Cyber Security program rapidly. Hazel Green High School started a Cyber Security program last year and ventured into the AFA's Cyber Patriot VIII with three open division teams. In the first year all three teams placed in the Platinum Level and were able to reach the regional round. This year a second course was added in the four-course sequence and expanded teams for Cyber Patriot IX. "When we added two JROTC teams to our existing three open-division teams, resources started to run out." states Mr. Case.

The NAC ISSA would like to thank all the businesses that donated equipment and especially Defense Acquisition University where a majority of the equipment came from. It helps when we can recycle equipment and put it to good use in the community where we live.

If your business has computers that can be donated please see our web site here for more details: http://nac-issa.org/naissa_giving_back.asp
